If you are searching for the group that was known as ICVM, you'll be disappointed. They are not active on the Internet, even though they had a brigade commander who operated an ISP (internet service provider), and apparently several web-literate members some years ago. On the other hand, the owner of this URL volunteered time, money, and lots of labor to make the ICVM accessible to internet users. For taking the initiative on this matter, and also for the growth of the organization, this member of ICVM was punished. He doubled the active number of brigades in ICVM from 4 to 8, from January 2000 to August 2001. He created a proposed rewrite of the ICVM militia manual which would have been computer-interactive and capable of being downloaded or emailed. He briefed commanders on the impending implementation of homeland security, then known as "homelands defense command". ICVM leaders felt threatened by this fellow's capability as both an organizer, a researcher, and all-around go-getter, even though the brigade commander who was the ISP owner had previously deemed this individual capable enough to make him his chief of staff. Others thought differently, and made up some pretty outrageous lies in an attempt to discredit him. Casual observers who frequented the ICVM discussion board at Yahoo publicly commented on the raw deal that this fellow got, and how this did not reflect well on the Indiana Citizens Volunteer Militia (ICVM). Since the time when he was ousted from ICVM, most of the people responsible for his removal have quit the organization or themselves been asked to resign. His accusors have been solidly refuted. The others continued to harrass him, libel and slander his good name, and impugn the integrity of every organization that he is involved with, solely because they welcomed his company. Is this the sort of militia you wish to look for? We hope not. ICVM has, since 2001, lost at least half of their membership from that time, in spite of new recruits and attempts by ICVM members and leadership to siphon off members and potential recruits from the Indiana Militia Corps. ICVM scaled back to 4 active brigades by 2002, and by 2004 had only a few scattered units left across the state, and no intact brigades. Organizations outside Indiana and on the internet no longer actively list ICVM for the simple fact that so much of the organization has gone defunct. Therefore, If you wish to contact ICVM, we cannot help you, and if you wish to find archival material on ICVM, we can only recommend that you use Google. On a more positive note, the fellow referred to in this not-so-short sad tale has had much better success. He was approached by several of his fellow Hoosier patriots the day after his departure from ICVM and asked to start what is now the Indiana Militia Corps; the IMC is now recognized by most of the patriot movement as the de jure constitutional citizen militia of Indiana; he was approached by the 3rd Continental Congress to be the Secretary of Defense for 3CC, he has been confirmed by a successive executive committee of 3CC since then; and the Indiana Militia Corps' basic handbook has been adopted by other militias for use in their states. He has also written a militia leaders' manual of operational doctrine that provides a framework for the growing Continental Militia Network under the 3CC-DoD. Once again, do you really want to look for the ICVM, or are you ready to join the Indiana Militia Corps?
